District Carol Service 2007

Wednesday 5th December. Instead of meeting at the Scout Hut the Cubs will meet at Wigton Road Methodist Church instead for the District Carol Service. Details can be found below.

The Sweet News of Christmas

Reivers Scout District welcomes all Beavers Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and their families to their Annual Carol Service at Wigton Road Methodist Church on Wednesday 5th December, 2007 at 7.p.m.

Please bring a gift/present (either new or used in good condition) that will be donated to Carlisle Social Services and distributed to local children this Christmas.

Please do NOT wrap the gift. You can put in a gift bag though!

Cardboard City and Josh's Trainers

Thanks to all who took last night. The cardboard shelters were all fantastic. Max, Charlie and Luke won the design competition for their mega-structure. A picture of which is included in this blog.

Unfortunately Josh lost his trainers last night. If you find that you have them please contact me and I'll let Josh know.

M+S Bag Packing

Dear All,
It is that time of year again when I am in need of your help, as you will know a bag pack has been arranged for Saturday 24th November at Marks and Spencer, Carlisle.
We will be bag packing all day and would like every Cub (aged 9 and over) and Scout to do a two hour stint. We'll also need parents to lend a hand too. There are four 2 hour sessions starting at 8.30, 10.30, 12.30 and 2.30. A rota will be available for you to book your space! Refreshments will be on hand as well. Fundraising is of a benefit to all so please do you best to help. Over the last year this fund raising has helped the entire Group to reduce the subscription by £20 a head and supplied us with much needed equipment resources and subsidise activities.

Cardboard City

Cardboard City – Saturday 17th November

Dear Parents,
We are holding a Cardboard City overnight camp on Saturday 17th November. This activity starts at 7.30pm and ends at 9.00pm the following morning. There is no cost for this activity.
The children will sleep in the cardboard shelters that they create, within the Scout Hut itself. They will need to make the shelters small in order for them to remain warm but creativity will be rewarded with a small prize.
If your child wishes to take part then they will need the following-
Sleeping Bag and Sleeping Mat
Uniform
Night Attire
Large cardboard boxes (flat packed), that they and their friends can make a shelter out of.
