Cubs - Wednesday 22nd June

Can Blue, Brown and Green sixes please make sur that they wear their trainers tonight as they'll be working towards their athletes badge.  Red, White and Yellow sixes will need their trainers next week.
We hope to issue a new timetable tonight however we are waiting until confirmation of some events is received.  Watch this space!

Cubs London Trip 2012

Dear Parents,

London Trip 2^nd-4^th June 2012

Next year we are planning to take the Cubs to London to experience some of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.  We will be staying in either a Youth Hostel or Baden Powell House (subject to numbers and costs.) This will replace the normal Spring Camp.

We intend to travel down to London early on the Saturday morning.  Over the next two days our itinerary will include:
Visits to some of the National Museums
Visit to HMS Belfast
A trip on the London Eye
London sightseeing
Watch the Jubilee flotilla as it comes up the Thames

We intend to add to this basic schedule as other specific Jubilee celebrations are launched.

In order to start developing the basic plan we need to have numbers.  I appreciate that this seems early but I need to book the accommodation soon.  At the moment I expect the visit to cost up to £150 but this cost should be reduced through early booking and fund-raising.  The leaders have discussed a number of fund-raising and grant applications which we hope will bring down the cost.  We have also chosen to not attend the District Camp in 2011 to save money and to help spread the cost.

If you would like your child to go please complete the slip below and return it by 29^th June along with a deposit (non-refundable) of £10.  Places will be limited to a maximum of 24 Cubs.  If your child is due to leave for Scouts before June next year, don’t worry they will still be able to go.

This promises to be a camp with a difference and will enable the Cubs to witness what will be, no doubt, a once in lifetime event.

No Meeting Tonight

Please don't forget that there is no meting for Cubs on Wednesday 15th June.  We are meeting on Friday 17th for the AGM instead. 

Cubs - 8th June 2011

There has ben a change to the plan for Cubs this week.  Instead of meeting for an evening hike we will meet at the Scout Hut as normal.
