Skiing to Edinburgh

11th March 2009

Dear Parents,

Cubs / Scouts Skiing Trip – Saturday March 28th 2009

Following the recent ski training we have planned a trip to the Midlothian Ski Centre, Edinburgh, on March 28th. We will leave, by coach, from Trinity School at 8.30am prompt on the morning and expect to be back around 6.00pm. The day will look something like this:

8.30am depart Carlisle
11.00 am arrive Edinburgh
11.30am – 2.30pm Ski practice
2.30pm lunch and après ski
3.30pm depart Edinburgh
6.00pm arrive Carlisle

The cost for the day will be £20.00 per child. The cost includes the hire of boots, skis and helmets which are now compulsory for everyone under eighteen.
Please can you bring the completed reply slips to either Cubs or Scouts on March 18th and 19th so that we have a good idea of numbers.

Each person will need to bring suitable clothes that cover the entire body, waterproofs, gloves and a packed lunch. A small amount of spending money is also advisable as you can buy hot drinks, ice creams and more in the centre café.

Last year many of the Cubs / Scouts brought games or MP3 players to occupy themselves on the journey (PSP, Nintendo DS, Gameboy etc.) This is acceptable but these are brought at the owner’s risk.

Yours sincerely,

David Hodgkiss – Cub Scout Leader
John Wylie – Scout Leader

Lost! Coat enters parallel universe!

Before half -term a coat was mistakenly taken home by one of the Beavers who left his own unnamed coat behind. The owner of the coat, Louis Graham, is anxious for its return. Please can you check that your child has not come home in the wrong coat and by error it is still hanging unnoticed at the foot of your stairs.

Essential detail - it's green and it has his name in it.

Please ring Lisa if you find the coat and we can let Louis have his favourite coat back.

So go on and check!

Thanks.
