Corbridge Camp – Further Details

The Cubs will be walking and swimming on Friday. Please can each Cub bring a 50p for their locker (they will get it back!) and a small amount of spending money if they wish to buy an ice cream, drink or souvenir. Please can everyone remember to bring a traybake or similar to share too.

On Thursday afternoon please make sure that you keep your packed tea, drink and waterproof in a small rucksack which you will take on the train. Wear your walking boots as the route to the site crosses a number of fields.

Oh and don't forget to bring two or three tea-towels for drying up.

If anyone wishes to drop off bags at the Scout Hut tonight (Wednesday) I will be there from 7.00 until 7.30.

Thankyou.

Summer Camp 2008

Departure
Please meet at the Scout Hut at 3.30pm on Thursday 24th July. This will give us chance to load the minibus with your gear along with food and equipment.
Please remember to bring suitable waterproofs, walking boots and a packed tea with you in a small rucksack. The Cubs will then catch the train to Corbridge (depart Carlisle at 17.20) and walk to the site whilst the Scouts will leave by minibus and set up the site.
Please pack the usual gear (a kit list is available on our website) and please don't forget swimwear (Cubs will be going swimming) towels and tea-towels. Hats and suncream may be useful this weekend.

The Scouts should pack their gear in a suitable rucksack as they will be backpacking on Friday/Saturday.

The Emergency Contact for the weekend will be Mike Tuer. His number will be given to parents on Thursday afternoon.

Activities
The Scouts will backpack on Friday and early Saturday. The Cubs will hike and swim on Friday before taking part in water activities on-site on the Saturday. Please make sure that everyone has shoes that they don't mind getting wet. They are needed in the river to protect your feet. Water shoes are ideal if you have them.

The Cubs and Scouts will return on Sunday afternoon and can be collected from 4.00pm at the Scout Hut. The Cubs will gain come by train with the Scouts returning by minibus.

If you have any questions then please contact Akela on 01228 594622.

Cubs - Water Night 9th July

OK - it's that time of year again. Yes it's time for water madness, Neil and Vicki to get a soaking and Akela to laugh smugly because I always get wet.

Don't forget your super soaker or similar tomorrow. Don't come in your uniform but make sure that you bring old clothes, a towel and something dry and warm if you become cold. I can guarantee though that you'll get very, very wet.

Oh - don't shoot your weapons in the Scout Hut or start before you get there. Patience is everything!
