Scouting Sunrise and Diary Dates

Dear Parents and Cubs,
Well another school year is almost over so its already time to look ahead to the new school year and a new year of Cubs. Tonight (18th July) is the last regular meeting until September 5th. There are a few things happening in the holidays and in September that you need to be aware of.

August 1st – Scouting Sunrise. On August 1st Cubs and Scouts from around the world will re-make their promise together at 8am. In Carlisle, it has been decided that the Cubs and Scouts will make their promise from the top of the civic centre. This will be followed by a mornings activities in the Sands Centre before children need to be picked up at 12.00.

7.15 - 7.30am meet at the Civic Centre

8.00am All present will renew their Scout promise on the very top of the Civic Centre (outside so bring jackets!)
8.15 - 8.30am Younger members leave the Civic Centre and head over to the Sands Sports Centre for a multi-sport / activity session until 12.00
12.00 Finish and Beavers/Cubs/Scouts/Explorers to be collected by parents
If you would like to go I will need to know either verbally or by e-mail by 12.00pm tomorrow so that I can book the places.

August 3rd – 6th Summer Camp 2007

September 5th – First Cub Meeting of the new school year

September 14th – 16th Family Camp at Ratlingate. This will be open to all 13th Scout Group families and to Cubs and Scouts. Beavers will need to be accompanied by parents. The camp will have a space and rockets theme. It will cost £15.00 for the weekend per person or £45.00 for a family of four or more. Details will be posted on the blog at 13thcarlislescoutgroup.blosgpot.com from early August. Keep a look out for further details.

September 25th (Tuesday) For one week Cubs will be on the Tuesday night. There will be no Cubs on Wednesday 26th September.

I would like to take this opportunity to than everyone who has helped with activities at Cubs over the past year. Without the help and support of all theses adults, especially Jane, Mike and Jonathan, many activities would not go ahead.

I hope you all have a fantastic, warm and dry summer.

Yours sincerely,

David Hodgkiss (Akela)
